Windsor Chair Resources was launched
in 1998 as a personal website to provide resources for chairmakers and
enthusiasts. We were pleasantly startled when the website grew beyond our
expectations to meet viewer requests for information and services throughout
the world. Its growth, however, made it necessary to charge a minimal fee
to keep the website and participant listings updated . As many of you know
from our annual letter, it has been a struggle to raise enough funds to meet
our financial output. What this has meant is that we have had the tasks
of billing, record keeping and tax filing for no profit, and often a loss.
Which brings us to our title. We
have made the difficult decision to return the Windsor Chair Resources website
to a personal website. It will remain online with many of the same
features and information offered now. We have worked hard over the
years to get a good placement in search engines and realize many of you rely
on us as a referral source. For that reason, it is not our intent to
remove listings presently on the website. However, we will check links
periodically and broken website links to defunct sites or sites that have
changed addresses without notifying us will be removed. Paid listings
will be honored until June 1, 2009, meaning you may send us any changes
to your listing and we will post them until that date. We are, however, not
accepting new listings.
Through the past 11 years, we have come
to know many of you personally by email and phone. You have shared
your challenges with us as well as your personal joys. We feel honored
to be part of this community, and hope you will continue to offer your comments,
and share your experiences. Thank you for your support of WCR through
the years and our very best wishes go with you for your future
successes.
